Anxiety & panic
Constant worry, panic attacks, health anxiety or social anxiety.
Whether you're feeling anxious, low, stuck or simply worn out, I offer a calm, steady and genuinely supportive space where you can talk openly, at a pace that feels safe for you.
I'm a BACP Accredited integrative counsellor, working with young people and adults in Bangor, Belfast and online.
Reaching out can feel like a big step, especially when you're anxious, low, stressed or emotionally exhausted, or when life has changed in ways you didn't choose. Whatever brings you, you'll be met with warmth and honesty, and we'll go at a pace that feels safe for you. The work is led by you, and built on trust.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on different approaches to suit each person: person-centred and humanistic counselling, solution-focused therapy, motivational interviewing and coaching. If sitting in a room doesn't feel right, we can also try walk and talk sessions outdoors.
I have particular experience supporting people affected by addiction, whether their own or someone else's, and working with older adults through loneliness, loss, health worries and changing relationships.
Further training in pregnancy and infant loss, bereavement, trauma, addiction, and solution-focused and resource-based therapy, with regular supervision and ongoing professional development.

You don't need a label or a reason to start. These are a few of the areas I often support people with.
Constant worry, panic attacks, health anxiety or social anxiety.
Depression, feeling flat or sad, including after having a baby.
Grieving someone you love, or a loss others may not see.
Miscarriage, infertility, a difficult birth, or being childless not by choice.
Alcohol, drugs or internet use, your own or someone close to you.
Emotional, physical or sexual abuse, and experiences that still affect you.
Relationship problems, separation and divorce, or family difficulties.
Low confidence, perfectionism, or never feeling quite good enough.
Work pressure and exhaustion, and finding your way back to balance.
Big transitions, changes in health, or simply feeling stuck.
Loneliness, loss, health concerns and changing relationships.
Trauma-informed support for young people facing anxiety, low mood and more.
I also work with anger, self-harm, and with neurodivergent clients including people with ADHD, autism and dyslexia. Not sure if counselling is right for what you're going through? That's exactly what the free initial consultation is for.
A relaxed 20-minute phone or video call. You can tell me a little about what's bringing you, ask any questions, and see how it feels to talk to me. There's no obligation.
If you'd like to go ahead, we'll book a session at a time that suits you: in person in Bangor or Belfast, online, by phone, or walking and talking outdoors. We'll go at whatever pace feels right.
Most people meet weekly. We'll check in regularly on how things are going, and you're always free to pause or stop.

Your choice
In person in Bangor or Belfast, online via Google Meet, by phone, or walk and talk outdoors.
Yes. What you share stays between us. The only exceptions are rare situations where someone is at serious risk of harm, or where the law requires it, and I'll always try to talk with you first. I explain this fully in our first session, and I discuss my work anonymously with a clinical supervisor, as all ethical counsellors do.
It varies. Some people find six to eight sessions helpful for a specific issue; others prefer longer-term support. We'll review together regularly, and you're always in control of when to stop.
Yes. As well as meeting in person in Bangor or Belfast, I offer sessions online via Google Meet and by phone. Many people find these just as helpful, and easier to fit around life.
It's a counselling session held outdoors, walking side by side rather than sitting face to face. Some people find it easier to open up when they're moving and in the fresh air. It's still a confidential session, and we can talk beforehand about where to walk and what to do if we meet someone you know.
Yes. I work with young people from the age of 12, as well as adults and older adults, and I've trained in trauma-informed counselling for children and young people. For anyone under 18, it's usually best for a parent or carer to make the first contact so we can talk about how things will work.
The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) is the UK's largest professional body for counsellors. Accreditation is a further level beyond membership, awarded to counsellors who have shown a substantial depth of training and supervised experience. I'm on BACP's register, which is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, and I work to BACP's Ethical Framework.
That's completely normal, and you don't need to prepare anything. I'll help us get started, and silence is fine too. Have a look at the first session guide if you'd like to know more.
I ask for 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or move a session. Sessions cancelled with less notice are usually charged in full, though I'll always be understanding about genuine emergencies.
Possibly. Some insurers and Employee Assistance Programmes cover private counselling. Check with your provider first, then mention it when you get in touch.
Let me know a few details and when suits you, and I'll be in touch within two working days to arrange a call.
